During this technical workshop, the participants collaborated in the installation of a MareNostrum 3 cluster in the Center for Astrophysics in La Palma. Then, they will be able to apply the learned installation procedure in their centres.

The Spanish Supercomputing Network organizes regularly technical workshops addressed to the system administrators and the support technicians of the centres associated. The aim of these workshops is to provide the knowledge needed to manage the supercomputing resources, as well as to share the experiences and the projects carried out in each RES centre.

The last technical workshop took place from 12 to 14 December at the Astrophysics Center of La Palma, which host one of the RES supercomputers: LaPalma. The 19 attendees collaborated in the installation of a MareNostrum 3 cluster leaded by BSC technicians.

After the installation of the supercomputer MareNostrum 4 in the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), the MareNostrum 3 clusters were distributed among several RES centres, where they will be continue providing service to users. The knowledge acquired in this technical workshop will enable the attendees to apply the procedures learned about the installation and configuration of the clusters received in their centres.

LaPalma node is co-financed by ERDF Funds 2014-2020 under the framework of the RES Strategic Plan, through the MNLP-RES operation (Ref:ICTS-2017-02-IAC-12)
