The new ICTS map was approved last November 6 by the Scientific, Technical and Innovation Policy Council. The Spanish Supercomputing Network was already part of the previous edition of the map, but the new version incorporates officially three new nodes. The ICTS map includes publicly owned infrastructures that are unique or exceptional and provide services to the research community through open, competitive calls.

The Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) will provide near 150 million computational hours to researchers during the third quarter of 2018. The Access Committee has accepted 115 research activities, and the awarded projects will have access to RES resources from 1 November 2018 to 28 February 2019.

The RES Users’ Conference brought together, one year more, researchers working with HPC technologies, RES technicians and RES coordinators. Near 100 participants attended this event, which took place in Valencia on September 20.

This year, the RES Users’ Conference and the HPC Advisory Council Conference will take place in Valencia on September 20 and 21. The objective of these events is to be a discussion forum to share experiences about the use of supercomputing technologies and to promote the dissemination of research results.

The Spanish Supercomputing Network has provided more than 30 million computing hours to the Gaia UB Group, which is part of the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium and has participated in this ESA’s cornerstone mission.
