La Red Española de Supercomputación (RES) incorpora este septiembre un nuevo servicio de Inteligencia Artificial (IA) a su oferta actual de acceso a HPC y explotación de datos. El nuevo servicio proporcionará recursos tanto de hardware como de software diseñados para respaldar proyectos de IA aplicados a la Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación (I+D+I). Se complementarán con acceso tutelado según la disponibilidad de cada nodo participante.

In 2019 the Spanish Supercomputing Network breaks its record of computing hours allocated to Spanish scientists. This Singular Technical Scientific Infrastructure has offered 583 million processor hours to researchers, 80% more than in 2018. For the first time, the RES Award for the scientific career in supercomputing has been awarded in 2019. In 2020 the RES includes data services with the call for the incorporation of new nodes. The RES has prepared a project of the Spanish Supercomputing Competence Center for companies, valued at 2 million Euros.

"Actualmente estamos simulando materiales tan complejos que necesitamos recursos HPC de forma continua. Además, a través a la RES descubrí el programa de movilidad HPC-Europa3, en el cual el BSC también está involucrado. Gracias a esta beca estuve dos meses en la Universidad de Bonn, Alemania, con acceso al centro de supercomputación HLRS de Stuttgart."
