The scientific workshop HPCnano (High Performance Computing for Next Generation Nanomaterials & Nanodevice Engineering) was held the 30th and 31st of May in the ICN2 (Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology), in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This event gathered 40 researchers interested in nanomaterials, molecular electronics and nanodevices. The workshop included keynote presentations by recognized experts in the area, as well as several presentations by experienced RES and PRACE users. In addition, the programme also contained technical tutorials and a poster session.

The workshop was organized by Stephan Roche, José Hugo García and Marc Vila, researchers from the ICN2, with the support of the Spanish Supercomputing Network. The RES promotes scientific seminars, which address supercomputing technology applications in specific scientific areas. These events are open to the entire research community and aim to disseminate RES resources and activities, as well as to contribute to increase the know-how about HPC technologies among researchers.
