⚛️Can we design quantum algorithms from scratch, instead of adapting classical equivalents?⚛️

Most quantum machine learning models are simply adaptations of classical techniques. This approach doesn't allow to exploit quantum properties with no classical equivalent such as superposition or interference.

The team is led by Luis De Pedro, and Jaime Bielza is the software author. They designed a quantum-native classification algorithm that has been tested on #MareNostrumOna at Barcelona Supercomputing Center.

🔎𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝?🔎

🔵 The quantum-native algorithm performed competitively in different standard benchmarks
🔵 Testing on real quantum hardware allowed them to understand better the role of noise and current hardware constraints
