RES presentation in the University of Castilla La Mancha

In the framework of a workshop about supercomputing services in the University of Castilla La Mancha (UCLM), David Vicente presented the services offered by the RES to researchers and explained how to get access to supercomputing resources.

The University of Castilla La Mancha (UCLM) organized a workshop about supercomputing services on 5 April in Toledo. This workshop aimed to present the supercomputing resources available for researchers from this university. David Vicente, manager of users’ support team in Barcelona Supercomuting Center, participated in this workshop to present the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES). He described the different supercomputers that form part of the RES and explained the access method by competitive calls. In addition, he presented the Partnership for Advance Computing in Europe (PRACE), which offers supercomputing resources for high-demanding research projects.

The workshop was introduced by Crescencio Bravo, UCLM General Secretary, and Julián Garde, Vice-rector of Research and Scientific Politics. Andrés Prado, director of the Technology and Communications Area from UCLM, presented the supercomputing services of the University and the corporative infrastructures. The workshop concluded with a panel of researchers, who explained their projects to share experiences and promote collaborations.
