The Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) has launched the second call for proposals to provide funds for the organization of scientific seminars during 2018. These events must focus on the application of supercomputing technologies in a specific scientific area. The objective is to promote the general knowledge about high performance computing among Spanish research community, as well as to disseminate the services and resources offered by the RES and attract new potential users.
The accepted proposals will receive up to 3,000 euros to cover the speakers’ travel expenses, the use of rooms and audio-visual material, coffee breaks and lunches for attendees, and other costs. The deadline for submitting proposals is Monday, 18th of December at 11.00h CET.
In the previous edition of this call, the RES sponsored five scientific conferences about such diverse topics as next generation sequencing, molecular physics and computational chemistry, modelling of combustion systems, atmospheric and ocean sciences, and marine services. In total, more than 300 attendees participated in these events, mostly researchers but also technicians, industry representatives and university students.
