About RES

Discover the nodes forming the RES

The RES (Spanish Supercomputing Network) is a Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructure (ICTS) distributed throughout Spain. The nodes of the RES are interconnected thanks to RedIris, the Spanish academic and research network, which establishes connections allowing the transmission of vast amounts of data.

Currently, the RES consists of 14 nodes located in different research centers and universities in Spain. Specific and technical information of the nodes can be found in the dedicated page for RES nodes.

About RES

Information

The RES was founded in March 2007 by the Ministry of Education and Science, initially including 8 institutions. Over the years, several updates have been made to the hardware of the RES nodes, and new nodes have been incorporated into our supercomputer network. Currently, the RES consists of 14 nodes located in different research centers and universities in Spain.

You can find information about the history and mission of the RES, as well as its organization and Governing Bodies (including the RES Users' Committee) on the dedicated page about the RES

Visit RES facilities

Some of the RES nodes offer guided tours of their facilities as part of the RES visit program. Discover the supercomputers and facilities of the nodes that are part of the RES up close. Currently, 8 of the 14 nodes are part of the visit program. You can check which ones and book your visit on the dedicated page for RES visits or on the page of the node you wish to visit.
