Apply for RES Awards and Travel Grants

Applications for awards and travel grants are submitted through the application form.

With the aim of recognising excellent scientific work carried out using RES resources, the conference will present the following awards:

  • RES Best Poster Award: Awarded to the author of the most meritorious poster presented at the RES Users Conference. Submitted works MUST have been carried out using HPC, AI or data resources from the RES. The winner will be decided during the conference by popular vote and will receive a travel grant for the following year's RES Users Conference.

  • RES Outstanding Paper Award: Awarded to the author of the most excellent paper submitted during the registration process. Submitted works MUST have been carried out using HPC, AI or data resources from the RES. The winner will be decided by the RES Council based on proposals from the coordinators of the Access Committee, who will evaluate candidates according to the excellence of both the work and the author. Winning this award entitles the author to give an oral presentation on their paper at the following year's conference.

  • Travel Grants: Intended to cover transport and accommodation for young researchers (typically master's and doctoral students, or recent graduates) presenting a poster at the conference. The organisation will cover travel expenses up to a maximum of €500, in accordance with BSC regulations.
